Since the crisis started Russian hotel market was far from saturated. Taking into consideration the fact that during the following several years the market will amount to nothing than, mainly, the projects that are now in the process of construction the market could face a strong shortage of the hotel rooms. From one hand it will lead to higher indices of existing hotels and greater attractiveness of this segment for international and Russian operators and investors and force Russian developers to draw more attention to this segment. On the other hand the operators, aiming to increase the business, will have to find some alternative options.
Could the office buildings and complexes become the option? What star-rate would be the most profitable and, consequently, mostly demanded by the operators? Would hotels of economic-segment meeting international standards appear in Russia? What is the system of “star”-classification, how and by whom will the system be demanded?
These and other issues will be discussed at the Hotel Investment and Development Congress.
