MARTIN HYAMS BSC ARCH, DIP ARCH, BREEAM INTERNATIONAL ASSESSOR DESIGN DIRECTOR – AEDAS CE (ARCHITECTS), CENTRAL AND EASTERN EUROPE Co-founder of Aedas CE, Martin Hyams has been instrumental in developing the Central and Eastern European operations within Aedas’ expanding portfolio. As growth in the commercial sectors increased within the region, Martin, together with business partner Michael Kus built an operation which today includes 75 staff in Moscow, Warsaw and Kiev. The growing team now exports its skills beyond the region to areas as far as Iran and soon South Africa. Currently Aedas CE has projects on-site in five countries and is working in 16.
Martin’s attention is focused on the early stages of the projects from strategic urban planning to the conceptual design of all parts of a masterplan and individual projects. Each of his projects includes numerous workshops with clients, consultants, operators, city officials and end users to build briefs in collaboration to maximise inherent site value - social, financial and environmental.
Martin’s love of architecture and the built environment grew from working with some of the world’s most respected architects; Nicholas Grimshaw, Norman Foster, Santiago Calatrava, Denton Corker Marshall and Aukett Europe. He worked on a number of prestigious projects in the UK, Russia, Kazakhstan, Croatia, Hungary, Romania, Poland, Spain, France and Germany before starting Aedas CE operations in 2005 with his business partner Michael Kus.
